As we emerge from our homes we can begin to gather again in person for
worship. The council has discussed the ways in which we can do this
safely. We are still navigating through
the restrictions of Covid 19, balanced against the needs of the
congregation, so we will adjust the schedule if necessary. A
single service is now being held on Sundays at 9:30am and includes Holy
Communion when supply pastors are available. We have purchased
individual communion kits to aid with the sanitary administering of
Holy Communion. The pastor will use tongs to hand a packet to each
person. Please note that gluten-free wafers are unavailable. Coffee hour remains suspended until
A single service eliminates the need for disinfecting between services, and the service will continue to be outdoors whenever weather permits. Expect to be outside even when it is chilly, so dress appropriately. The pews both indoors and outdoors are now in configurations that allow six feet between worshiping households. The service does not include live singing or group speech. The congregation is requested to speak responses quietly and hum along with the hymns. Please be aware that when we move worship indoors we are limited to a maximum capacity of 47 people.
Worship participants are asked to wear a mask and respect social distancing. Remember, if you are experiencing symptoms of any illness please remain home. We will provide hand sanitizer and have masks available for anyone that may have left theirs at home. The church building has been sanitized with a CDC approved agent and continues to be treated following any type of building use. High touch surfaces are cleaned in areas that are used by staff and guests. The product Safety Data Sheet can be found here. Covid-19 certified cleaners can be read about here.
Anyone that is not yet ready enough to return to a group setting can continue to gather for worship through Facebook and YouTube, (Streaming worship info here). We want the members of our congregation to know they are valued as active participants in the life of the church whenever they choose to return in person, or continue to gather virtually. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the church office or reach out to any council member. For our church council directory click here. We have made every effort to successfully carry on our ministry together this year and we look forward to continuing Christ’s work together with you in the months and years ahead.
Peace and good health be with you all.
