As
we emerge from our homes we can begin to gather again in person for
worship. The council has discussed the ways in which we can do this
safely. We are
still navigating through
the restrictions of Covid-19, balanced against the needs of the
congregation, so we continue to adjust the schedule as necessary. A
single service is now being held on Sundays at 9:30AM and when supply
pastors are available, includes
Holy
Communion. We have
purchased
individual communion kits to aid with the sanitary administering of
Holy Communion. Please note that gluten-free wafers are unavailable. Coffee hour remains suspended until
further notice. We have now switched from conducting our service indoors, where we were restricted to only 47 people, to conducting them outdoors as a parking lot service. You remain by or in your car and can participate in singing and prayers as you listen to the service on your FM radio being conducted live. This allows families to remain together while groups remain socially distant. Feel free to sing, respond, and pray with everyone! At these parking lot services arrive at church and park in the front lot facing toward the front of the building, (our line-striping is diagonal but please face forward.) Tune your car radio to 104.9 FM and worship will be presented from either the top of the sidewalk steps or from within the vestibule area with the front doors open, depending on weather conditions. Worship participants should be masked and respect social distancing when in contact with others. Remember, if you are experiencing symptoms of illness you should still remain home. The church building has been sanitized with a CDC approved agent and continues to be treated following any type of building use. High touch surfaces are cleaned in areas that are used by staff and guests. The product Safety Data Sheet can be found here. Covid-19 certified cleaners can be read about here. Anyone that is not yet ready enough to return to a group setting can continue to gather for worship through Facebook and YouTube, (Streaming worship info here). We want the members of our congregation to know they are valued as active participants in the life of the church whenever they choose to return in person, or continue to gather virtually. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the church office or reach out to any council member. For our church council directory click here. We have made every effort to successfully carry on our ministry together and we look forward to continuing Christ’s work together with you in the months and years ahead. Peace and good health be with you all. |
